Three PLA pilots died in plane crash, all attendees at National Day military parade


According to Nanyang City news, at 3:30 pm of October 22, tens of thousands of local residents lined up along the main streets in Xinye County of Henan province, saying farewell to Gong Dachuan whose body was returned to his hometown for burial after a plane crash into the mountains.

Gong Dachuan was among the three experienced pilots in the People’s Liberation Army who lost their lives during a military flight on October 11, the cause being an engine failure, the local media says. The other two young pilots were Wen Weibin from Hunan and Luo Wei from Sichuan.

It was reported that these three pilots had joined the National Day military parade in the flight performance on October 1.
